The 2012 Bulgari Serpenti Collection
In 2012, Bulgari honors one of the most emblematic symbols of its
timeless style: Serpenti. Indeed, the new collection of jewellery
and watches plays with the sinuous forms of the creature that,
more than any other, is distinguished by sensuality and elegance. Realized in yellow or pink gold, the new jewels are conceived as
parures, complete with bracelets, rings, earrings and for the
first time in a Serpenti collection enchanting necklaces, notable
for their suppleness of form and purity of design.
Cold Method Spring Summer 2013 Collection Presentation
On July the 10th, Designer Dieter de Cock of Cold Method presented the new
SS13 collection at the Utrechtsestraat in Amsterdam. Besides the
collection presentation he also introduced the 10 Cold Method men
who are representative for the brand.

On July 14th
2012, Azzurro Fashion Group launched their FOURth store on 127 P.C.
Hooftstraat, Amsterdam: FOUR. Azzurro Fashion Group is well-known for
its iconic way of selecting brands and collections. With many years of
experience in women’s fashion, Azzurro Fashion Group noticed that there
is a growing demand for a men’s store of the same character as their
women’s stores.

Ilja, the couture line of Ilja Visser brings every season a strong concept which express a blend of wearable evening dresses, extravagant show pieces and a distinct shoe design. All pieces are handmade in the studio from the Ilja Visser Group. This collection is based on beauty and movement. It gives you the impression of modern, expressionist dance with the influence of classic ballet. Both styles find their balance in symmetric, organic forms, underlined by a combination of voluminous skirts and dresses. This leads to an edgy but at the same time an innocent look. The use of hundreds of ribs makes the collection sculptural. Flowy silk, worked with unique prints, gives the collection sophisticated and super feminine feeling. Above that, all vale skintones are combined with crude stonecollor like concrete grey, and a various of black shades.
Ready to Fish_ InMotion SS13
Ready to_Fish, the in 2007 founded prêt-a-porter line of Ilja Visser, consists a core collection of women’s wear, filled with interiorpieces and music. The Ready to Fish_InMotion SS13 collection is inspired on expressive dance; the desire to balans with emotion and non-verbal communication are being expressed by movement. Paradox combinations determine the image; so the earth-shades versus neon and vulnerability versus firmness stands central. Refined, elegance snits with female aspect is performed in a modern design, what the collection is giving its own character

Designer Borre Akkersdijk showed his latest byBorre collection. This time his collection was divided in two parts at two different locations. It started with the day presentation that was dominated by movement and which took place in one of Amsterdam's most authentic gyms; The Apollohal. Within the collection, shown by professional gymnasts, the structure and the use of ton-sur-ton colors were very outstanding. In the evening the night collection came on and off stage at Bar Ludwig, Reguliersdwarsstraat in Amsterdam. For Designer Borre Akkersdijk the interplay between people and technology determines the final form. The limits of the weaving, flat knitting and circular knitting machine were searched and are the most important influence on the design.

Marga Weimans showed her couture collection 'The most beautiful
dress' during the opening night of AFW. The models were walking in
dresses with prints inspired by the skyline. named skyscraper dress
or the park dress. The show was mixed with
architecture, which explains the frames the models were walking
with, in every possible shape. The showstopper was the telephone
dress, a dress with 300 mobile phones where the audience could call
to, and would make the dress ring and shine.
After the show the installation (99m2) of Marga Weimans 'Fashion House' was available for visitors. With an 'Layar' app a virtual dimension could be experienced of Marga's archive, apartment, atelier, flagshipstore. By scanning several objects the inspiration of Marga will come alive and you could experience the making of and see her inspiration on the smartphone.

Claes Iversen opened the highly anticipated 17th edition of Amsterdam
Fashion Week 2012. The designer showed his newest SS13 collection in a packed
room at the Westergasfabriek. Inspired by the Apocalypse, all American football
and the positive vibes of the 60ties, the show started with simple monotone
coloured dresses with broad shoulders and evolved slowly into colourful pieces

Iris van Herpen 'Hybrid Holisme' Haute Couture AW2012/13

This season, Iris'
inspiration is yet another
scientific experiment; this time her inspiration is drawn from a
project lead
by architect Philip Beesley called Holozolic Ground. His almost living sculptures and
environments suggest that a future city could operate as a living being
in
which Holozolic Ground offers a vision for a new generation of
responsive
architecture. Beesley collaborates
with people from many different
disciplines including Rachel Armstrong an experimental chemist
who works with
'living technology' such as Synthetic Biology – the engineering
for living
systems –Armstrong explores metabolic materials to connect human
creations,
like architecture, with natural systems. Her innovative work
uses concepts such
as “living buildings” and “self-repairing architecture”;
architecture that is
self- sustainable and reacts to its changing environment.
JANTAMINIAU Poetic Clash | Haute Couture AW 2012/13

Poetic Clash is the story of an
encounter. An encounter between different cultures. Jan
Taminiau shares his interest for the tribal African
silhouettes, patterns and scarifications as well as the
magnetism of ikats from Uzbekistan. Through this
collection, he combines these ethnic inspirations with
his Couture savoir-faire and traditional clothing
construction crafts. Volumes get suddenly shifted to
other parts of the body. Color patterns appear, for the
first time in Jan Taminiau’s collections through the use
of simple geometric shapes and color contrasts. Meters
and meters of tulle are worked to create incredible
volumes. The patterns are worked with different layers
of tulle, beads or crystal ornamentation to reveal three
dimensional details. The final wedding dress shows the
amazing result of the collaboration between Maison
Lesage and Jan Taminiau. A demi-couture collection will
