Pinko's Christina Negra, Editor in chief Vogue Italy Franca Sozzani, Pinko CEO Pietro Negra & Designer Mark Fast

On September 23rd Pinko presented the Spring/Summer 2011 Pinko by Mark Fast capsule collection during Milan Fashion Week. The funky Canadian designer was inspired by iconics from the '70 like model Jerry Hall and the famous New York club 'Studio 54'. The celebrity packed venue was designed like Andy Warhol's Factory with silver walls and a lot of typical Italian glitter and glamour.

Claes Iversen Spring/Summer 2011 show

On the 7th of September Claes Iversen showed the new Spring/Summer 2011 collection at Felix Meritis in Amsterdam. The collection is all about the passing of time. Claes Iversen used the short and fragil life of a butterfly as inspiration for his collection. The life cycle of a butterfly was used as a metaphor for the design process he experiences each season; from creating a collection until the transformation and presentation of beauty that will live on forever.

ACNE IN CONJUNCTION WITH CANDY MAGAZINE LAUNCH A TRANSVESTITE, TRANSGENDER AND CROSS-DRESSING COLLECTION OCTOBER 2010

Together with Acne Studios, Luis Venegas Editor in Chief of Candy Magazine has created a collection of three shirts. Working on the idea of a classic western shirt, but playing with detail and proportion, the end result is a fun take on masculine versus feminine. All styles are all offered in silk crepe and Italian denim; the later in two washes, stonewashed and bleached. The shirts are named after one of Luis favourite TV series, Dynasty. The shirt with a dramatic bow at the neck is called "Alexis" as a tribute to Joan Collin's role. The one with big sleeves reminded Luis of the role Linda Evans played so it's called "Krystle" and the shirt with ruffles at neck and wrists has the playful personality of Heather's Locklear role and is called "Sammy Jo."

Monki store opening

Last Thursday the first Monki store in the Netherlands opened its doors at the Kalverstraat in Amsterdam. We celebrated this with friends, cupcakes, Martini cocktails and dj’s Menr. Broekjevol and Mevr. Bloesjevol and South-African vocalist and Dutch dj Skip&Die.

The Swedish Monki brandstore is a mix of the ultimate walk-in-closet and the hysterical streets of Tokyo with some Scandinavian fashion sense. Monki produces clothes for girls who know what they want and aren’t afraid to express their identity through what they wear. It’s the place where graphics, fashion accessories and design come together. The world of Monki is waiting for you!
