Fashion mob on Dam Square

Last weekend Sunday shoppers were surprised by a group of undercover dancers. They exposed themselves when a green truck with two DJ's, armed with huge speakers, drove up the Dam Square. On the catchy 'It's the inside that counts' tune of Glamour magazine the girls put on a dance performance, attracting a whole bunch of people that gathered around them. Glamour magazine set up this flash mob to kick off its big charity initiative called 'Detox your wardrobe'. With this campaign Glamour calls up all their readers to 'detox' their wardrobe, hand in these clothes that are bad bargains, too big, too small. On March 14 Glamour will open up a shop-in-shop for just a day in De Bijenkorf in Amsterdam and sell these collected clothes. Celebrities and designers have already shown their support and have donated pieces which will be auctioned and sold in the VIP store. The whole profit will be donated to Orange Babies, helping HIV infected women and their babies in Africa. Orange Babies also supports children infected with the virus or otherwise directly affected. So come, shop till you drop and support Orange Babies on March 14! To view the fashion mob on Dam Square Click here

This time, Van Herpen showed a combination of mainly leather, crafts and futurism in three-dimensional shapes, transparency and reflection.

It was a calorie burning kick start of the week when Nike Women organized the DiamondFLX event on Monday, February 8th. During the event the press got acquainted with Nike Women's DiamondFLX technology, a revolutionary innovative outsole and midsole technology which allows multi-directional movements that training requires. The DiamondFLX tech mimics natural foot movement more closely than ever. This results in a stronger, more flexible foot and a greater activation of muscles up the kinetic chain to strengthen muscles beyond just the foot. And that's exactly what Nike Women wanted the press to experience and so the label let them do the Nike Dynamic Training. It was a fun way to get to know the product, however the aftermath was 3 days of muscle ach.

Acne Womens show London

On the 2nd of February Acne presented their Womens AW10/11 main collection in London. Exclusively for the Womens presentation a fragrance was produced by BYREDO a Stockholm based fragrance house founded in 2006 by Ben Gorham. Charles Koroly was the Set Designer for Svart Snö (black Snow) Show. He is one of the most successful costume and set designers in Sweden working across the worlds of theater, dance, and cinema.

The Collection
ACNE Autumn/Winter 2010 is an exercise in low Tech vs high Tech, luxurious and destroyed, dessert Winter meeting black Snow. Fabrics are characterized by draped silks, textural ultra suede, burnt wool, luxurious sheep skin, mesh and kid leathers. The look is very soft, subtle and discrete. Juxtaposing the neutrality of the collection the footwear provides a tough counter point in the strongest metallic leathers and tough sculptural fur boots. The silhouette for ACNE Autumn/Winter 2010 is focused on drape, layering, pocketing and a long slender silhouette. This combined with the A-Line Shape encapsulates how ACNE feels for Autumn/Winter 2010
