Mercedes-Benz Dutch Fashion Awards 2009

On the 6th of November 2009, the third edition of the Mercedes-Benz Dutch Fashion Awards took place. After having held the first two editions in Amsterdam, Dutch Fashion Foundation (DFF) chose to host the oncoming edition in The Hague. The prenominations were proposed to the delegation of the international jury, including Wilbert Das, Diesel's creative director. Promising designer Iris van Herpen, who's known for her sculptural designs with intricate detailing, won the Dutch Fashion Media Award. The big price, the Mercedes Benz Dutch Fashion Award, went to male designer Sjaak Hullekes, who won 25.000 euro. Congrats!

Celebrate winter with George and Jimmy

We got to face it, the summer weather is definitely over. Instead of moping about it, perfect duo George and Jimmy, aka Cafe George and Jimmy Woo, aka Sjors & Sjimmie, decided to embrace it and welcome the winter season with a 'put your hands up in the air' kind of party. So, on Thursday November 5 George and Jimmy invited their very best friends to join them and celebrate along.

Press day SS10

Boxes everywhere, heaps of clothes underneath, on top and next to every desk: preparations for our biannual open day were on full throttle. But on the day itself, last Tuesday November 3rd, our office looked showroom shine for the new fashion season celebration. Despite the wet autumn scenery outside, we welcomed a lot of press, stylists, clients and other movers & shakers who, hopefully, enjoyed to see the new SS10 collections. It was one fine day with beautiful clothes, great people, yummy food, adorable Lily's cupcakes and tasty cocktails (grazie Martini).

Thank God it's Freitag!

Last Friday, October 30, Freitag took over 290 Square Meters for a night. The Swiss recycled freeway bag label moved into the special seperate space of the cool concept store, which makes 290 Square Meters the biggest Dutch selling point of Freitag now. Perfect excuse for a little party with the two founders, brothers Daniel and Markus Freitag. People were invited to check out the new space and were also introduced to BEN & LEO, the laptop bags, which are the newest Freitag designs. It was no common launch for Freitag, they threw in a truckers' theme and added some yummy hamburgers, beer, a country singer and an arm wrestling match with professionals to it. So besides mingling and thinking about which Freitag bag to buy, people also had the chance to show off their muscles. However most of them were too shy, but at least the brothers were brave enough to step up to the challenge and battled against the Mr. Strong Arm Wrestler #4. Respect!
